چکیده
The lunar regolith breccia Dhofar 1769, which was found in 2012 as a single 125 g piece the Zufar desert area of Oman, contains relatively large, dark-colored impact melt embedded fine-grained clastic matrix. internal texture fragment indicates repeated formation on surface, their brecciation, and mixing second, third, fourth generations brecciated rock types. chemical mineralogical data reveal incorporation feldspar-rich subophitic crystalline within microporphyritic breccia. This lithic paragenesis itself is mafic, entire with three different melts has been finally incorporated into whole are mixtures source rocks projectiles, based obtained minor trace element compositions (in particular Ni rare earth elements [REE]) lithologies. For all processes formation, additional steps brecciation re-lithification require minimum number seven processes.

Petrography and Mineralogy of Dhofar 1428 Lunar Highland Regolith Breccia
Introduction: Dhofar 1428 is a lunar feldspathic breccia found in 2006. Bunch et al. [1] briefly described mineral chemistry of Dhofar 1428. Korotev and Zeigler [2] analyzed its bulk FeO and Sm compositions. Here, we report such detailed data for Dhofar 1428. Results and Discussion: Dhofar 1428 has a distinct breccia texture with numerous fragments of rock, mineral, and glass all welded by a gl...
متن کاملLunar Meteorite Dhofar 026: a Shocked Granulitic Breccia, Not an Impact Melt
Introduction: Lunar meteorite Dhofar 026 was previously interpreted as an impact melt [1, 2]. Detailed studies of the rock and comparison to Apollo lunar samples 15418 and 60017 indicate that the rock instead is a shocked, partly melted, granulitic breccia. These studies, presented by [3], are summarized herein. Petrology of Dhofar 026: Most of the rock consists of blocky patches of monomineral...

متن کاملLunar Meteorite Dhofar 026: a Second-generation Impact Melt
Introduction: The meteorite Dhofar 026 (Dh26) was found in Oman in January, 2000 [1]. It is a clastpoor, anorthositic, crystalline melt breccia with no fusion crust and little terrestrial weathering. Solar wind abundance measurements show that it is unpaired with the lunar regolith breccia Dhofar 025 [2]. The Dh26 oxygen isotopic composition indicates its lunar origin [3], while its majorand tr...
متن کاملOn lateral mixing efficiency of lunar regolith
[1] To reexamine the potential for lateral mixing over large distances (>100 km) by impact craters, a mathematical model utilizing the stable probability distribution is proposed for estimating lateral mixing efficiency on the Moon. The proposed model divides material mixing into shallow slope and steep slope regimes. Mixing in the shallow slope regime conforms to the condition that the exponen...
